Bois Chamois

If you envision a truly old-world, vintage look for your new room in your home or office, than Bois Chamois is a perfect match for your vision. This company specializes in providing top-quality French white oak hardwood flooring, and they do it in a rich, traditional style that will make your new floor a centerpiece of conversation, and will certainly be unlike the “standard” hardwood flooring seen in homes and offices around your community.

What makes Bois Chamois unique and so brilliant is the classic, traditional methods and treatments used on their hardwood flooring selections. The planks are distressed, which creates a well-used, rustic worn appearance that so many people are after today. Unlike manufactured boards, the scarring and surface marks you see are produced without repetition, and the boards’ edges are irregular as well, which accentuates the distressed look. Bois Chamois’ hardwood flooring takes your room back in time, but because of their technical expertise and precision milling, the flooring has perfect tongue and groove fit, making installation and maintenance easy.

Bois Chamois offers their hardwoods with a variety of parameters. All of their hardwood planking is kiln dried, and if color is ordered, then the boards are “fumed” with color, which allows the color to permeate the thickness of each board with their rich, natural, handcrafted colors. So the first detail to decide on is color. Bois Chamois provides a palette of colors to choose from, which includes dark, red tones with choices such as “New America Rosso,” midtone browns and tans with “Antique Metal Brass,” all the way to what they call “Stonewashed ” or “Shabby White.” You can even select natural oak with no color or finish. There’s certainly a color that will set the tone for your look.

Once you’ve decided on color, you can then decide on formatting of the hardwood flooring planks. Bois Chamois can provide custom widths up to seven inches. The boards can also be finished with oil or wax. A wax finish is easy to maintain. After the initial waxing and buffing, you just need to annually (more or less often depending on traffic) and buff to a shine. The oil finish is a bit more involved at installation, but is maintained by cleaning with a simple soap mixture. Both methods help to permeate and protect color if it has been applied as well as works as a barrier to moisture.

Bois Chamois is the standard in vintage, traditional hardwood flooring.

CR Studio 4

CR Studio 4, a family owned and operated business from Southern California, is a place where integrity and dedication to craftsmanship prevail. In this day and age, machine-made products and assembly-line mentality have become commonplace, but with this shift, the spiritual and truly individual beauty of the products for our homes and offices is often lost. But not with CR Studio 4. If you want a touch of artistry for your new project, then look no further.

The company offers basically two different styles of tile: stone and metal. Within those categories lie ceramics, granite, marble, bronze, and pewter. All of CR Studio 4’s tiles are handmade and crafted. And they do all of their own designing, mold-making, casting, bench and foundry work. When you have a CR Studio 4 product, you know you have something unique. The different styles and materials can be used in pretty much any combination, depending on your vision.

Studio 4’s various products can bring a unique flare to your wall or accent your floor. Their products are used as kitchen countertops, backsplashes, showers, or even office walls. The only place Studio 4’s products are limited are in your imagination. They not only have the basic tile pieces, but they also provide stunning trim, moldings, rail caps, and deco accent tiles and murals that add that finishing touch of class. They even have an amazing decorative threshold piece in pewter that stylishly connects one type of flooring to another.

Color selection at Studio 4 is just as varied and eclectic as its styles. From their metal line, Pewter is a gorgeous metal that has depth of color with varying shades of gray and black, adding texture and old-world charm. Though color varies in the metal, the Bronze line has a copper-type look, and depending on wear and exposure can darken over time. If you like that look, great, but you can also restore the brighter color and shine by buffing with some soap and water and a ScotchBrite pad.

You can also choose stone tiles in colors like Lemon Pesto or Rusty Matte or Silver Snow, just to name a few. Basically take the rainbow, soften the colors, and you have the palette that Studio 4 provides.

So to make your everyday living spaces glow by installing the luxury and artistry of CR Studio 4’s amazing products.

Interlam

Do you want a truly unique, dramatic accent to your home or office that will be a conversation piece for years to come? Then you’ll want to check out Interlam’s collections of wall veneers. Since 1985, Interlam has been bringing innovative wall covering products to the market. You can choose from ornamental carved or sculpted walls in a variety of different materials, kept to stringent standards of indoor air quality and that use FSC certified fibers.

Can you imagine a panel of stone that seems to undulate like waves? That’s just one option Interlam offers. They organize their panels into several collections, many of which can be customized, even as far as being able to use your own personal digital files to create something that truly no one else in the world would have.

To cover a sampling of what Interlam has to offer, first, there’s wood paneling. Might sound run of the mill, but Interlam does nothing run of the mill. They offer wall panels in melamine-coated exotic hardwoods that are extremely durable and accentuate the dramatic, unique striations that are present in the various wood species.

You can also, believe it or not, also get whole wall panels in natural stone. The creative and unusual designs and ingenious engineering to be able to use this type of material in this manner just cannot be matched. Then there’s the composite Art Diffusion collection, which can be ordered in different geometric designs and patterns as well as rivulets that capture motion in a solid panel.

The Mirage line is truly remarkable. Basically an image is carved from anthracite valchromat (as one example of base material) and applied almost as an embossed image. Using a stark black and white contrast, the “embossed” image can only be seen as a person backs up and away from the wall. Up close, it looks perhaps like abstract, random designs, but as the distance increases, an amazing image becomes apparent.

You can even provide Interlam a graphic file, and they can make one of these masterpieces of even a person’s photograph. A great place to install one of these panel creations is where people can walk up close to the wall as well as see it from a significant distance. So all this to say, the options are endless; take a look at Interlam’s galleries and let your imagination go wild!

Dynamic. That’s the word for Solistone’s amazing lines of stone, glass, and metal wall and floor coverings. This Los Angeles-based company is one of the largest importers/distributors of fine decorative stone that can be used as wall covering and flooring, indoors and out. Their mission, “to provide the highest quality and most exquisite materials the trade has to offer,” is fully realized in their galleries, and you can bring that same quality your home or office.

Within the Distinctive Tile category, you’ll find products such as Glass, Metal, and Mission tiles, to name a few. Also you’ll find the Seychelles collection, which is mosaic made from natural shell material, a product that would look stunning on a bathroom floor, walls, and showers.

In the Natural Stone collection no two products are exactly alike. The splendor of earthiness of the Haisa marble and sandstone will add a unique, rustic feel to any location…from the stacked look of the Portico collection to the nonlinear Versailles Slate collection, there’s certainly a style that would add just the right touch to the space you’re designing. You can use most of these products as mosaic or tile flooring or wall covering for any room, and most can be used for interior or exteriors.

There are natural creek rock colors, blacks, grays, whites, and earth tones. But they also take this Pebble idea and apply it to their glass and metal collections as well. So basically you can have the look of pebble rocks of varying sizes and shapes but in metal, and even colored metal. It’s a truly unique look that will have people amazed as they view your home or office.

Mountain Lumber Company – Reclaimed Antique Flooring

Mountain Lumber is truly a unique and interesting business. When you think hardwood flooring, you automatically thinking of felling trees and factories turning giant logs into boards and planks. Not so with Mountain Lumber. This company started in 1974 with a man who just wanted some antique wood for a new house he was building. What was actually built from that day forward was much bigger than just one house.

Willie Drake, the founder of Mountain Lumber, took a look around the countryside in West Virginia, where he had gone to on his search, and he was inspired. He decided there was a treasure trove of materials sitting in the old barns, houses, and other structures that dotted the countryside. So he began to remove the wood from these often dilapidated buildings and, referred to as “reclaiming,” recut, refitted, and resurfaced these pieces to create some of the best antique wood flooring on the market.

If unique is the word you want people to use to describe your new floor in your home or office, then Mountain Lumber is certainly a company you need to consider. Their floors are organized, not in collections, as several hardwood flooring companies do it, but in three basic categories: By Species, By Color, and By Character.

You can select from Oaks, Pines, Elms, Hickory, Cherry, Chestnut, Mixed Hardwoods (which is a really striking look), and even Barn Boards, for that really rustic feel. Or you can search by color, everything from light, blanched colors such as White Oak to very dark ones, such as Toasted Oak. Or if the “feel” is what you’re most into, a floor with a unique character, then you can search their products by the third category and select from Clean, Medium, and Distressed. So you combine the different qualities you like and you’ll find that perfect flooring that reflects your personal style and personality. That’s definitely a word for Mountain Lumber’s products: personality.

Mountain Lumber describes itself, “where every floor has a story to tell,” and with this company, that’s truer than with any other hardwood flooring company in the industry. Your new floor will have an amazing personality and its own story to tell.
